About the Role

As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you'll inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial heating and cooling equipment across a variety of facilities throughout the Indianapolis area. You'll work independently in the field while partnering with customers, facility managers, and the Godby support team to keep critical HVAC systems operating safely and efficiently.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of commercial equipment and provides opportunities to continue developing your skills on increasingly advanced mechanical systems.

What You'll Do

Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, package units, split systems, VAV systems, exhaust systems, and other commercial mechanical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, system inspections, equipment startups, operational testing, and repairs that maximize system performance and reliability.

Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, airflow, and control-related issues using wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools. Document completed work electronically, communicate findings and recommendations with customers, and maintain a clean, organized service vehicle while representing Godby Heating Plumbing Electrical professionally.

As your experience grows, you'll also have opportunities to assist with boilers, chillers, building automation systems, and other advanced commercial HVAC technologies.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking experienced commercial HVAC professionals with at least two years of commercial service experience. Candidates should have strong diagnostic abilities and a solid understanding of refrigeration systems, electrical controls, airflow, and commercial HVAC equipment.

Successful candidates are dependable, safety-minded, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple service calls. The ability to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation is essential.

A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. EPA Certification is preferred. Experience with boilers, chillers, building automation systems, commercial controls, and manufacturer certifications is considered a strong advantage.
