Job description

This IT Project Manager role provides principal-level advisory and thought leadership to senior DARPA executives, including the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and senior ITD Staff. As an IT Project Manager, you will be a key strategic resource, shaping the agency's approach to cybersecurity across its most advanced and sensitive technology portfolios.

Seeking a distinguished expert with extensive, deep experience in IT Project Management with a focus on High Performance Computing (HPC) support. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy to provide strategic foresight, critical technical analysis, and authoritative guidance, ensuring that security is an enabler of innovation for DARPA's high-risk, high-reward programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary support to the government's HPC Director, Support to the HPC Director.
  • Maintain close communication between PM/OD personnel and the HPC Director regarding current and future HPC requirements across the agency.
  • Support the HPC Director in overall HPC Strategy Development and Execution for the agency.
  • Engaging with external DoW partners and investors in HPC related initiatives.
  • Serve as DARPA's Service/Agency Approval Authority (S/AAA) within the DoD HPCMPย ecosystem to liaison with DARPA program managers and their contracted scientists and
    engineers to secure computational resources on their behalf.
  • Allocate DARPA-assigned CPU compute hours on HPCMP and DARPA systems.
  • Provide day-to-day linkage with DARPA organizations, the HPCMP and other S/AAAsย across the HPCMP community.
  • Ensure Project Leaders and authorized HPCMP users are performing work in support ofย DARPA and the DoD.
  • Implement HPC requirements surveys, resource allocation, resource monitoring andย resource reallocation.
  • Provide guidance to users on which HPC assets are appropriate for their projects.
  • Trade allocations with other S/AAAs across the HPCMP community.
  • Under the agile methodology, serve as a Product Manager for any DARPA HPC projects toย develop acceptance criteria defining desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable solutions
    that meet customer needs.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Must have demonstrated a minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting HPC

    requirements, services, equities or customers within USG HPC communities, such as the DOD

  • High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP).ย 

  • Minimum Top-Secret clearance, eligible for access to SCI and SAP.
