Chevron is accepting online applications for the position HPC SW Development Product Owner through 07, 21, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).
Overview:
The High-Performance Computing (HPC) team is responsible for providing application and infrastructure solutions that support complex, compute intensive workloads, parallel filesystems, low latency networks, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).
The Product Owner leads a software development team that delivers innovative software solutions that utilize the latest High Performance Computing technologies to enable new business capabilities. The Product Owner collaborates with domain scientists and HPC infrastructure experts to develop complete HPC solutions and workflows.
The Product Owner partners with other product teams, customers, and stakeholders to define priorities and manage effective mix of new features and technical debt removal aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Deliver world class computational capabilities to Subsurface and other functions,
  • Supervisory responsibilities for a team of 5 - 10 engineers,
  • Provide clear work direction, prioritization, ensure team members are delivering against priorities,
  • Eliminate barriers and resolve or escalate prioritization conflicts,
  • Support and grow robust feedback culture,
  • Foster teamwork, collaboration, and encourage diversity of ideas,
  • Serve as an escalation point for product operations.
  • Define the product vision and roadmaps aligned with business priorities,
  • Effectively collaborate and build relationships with HPC customers, stakeholders, peers, company leadership, and subject matter experts.
  • Drive cost efficiencies through code performance improvements, modernization, and automation,

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of leading engineering teams or similar leadership experience
  • Experience working with HPC systems
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, other scientific fields or 10 years of experience
  • Software engineering background
  • R&D background
