Job Description

The Unix Admin will be responsible to:

  Provide Tier 2 support, based on industry standards, to clients for all system problems and anomalies. Support trouble tickets submitted via the electronic problem reports system. 

Prepare systems (mission servers, UNIX workstations) for security accreditation. 

Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Linux and Solaris operating systems, to include Operating System (OS), application software patches and service packs. 

Perform user account, group, and directory maintenance on all system as needed.

Manage user and group policies and rights; conduct auditing for same. 

Review security, network, and system auditing and remedy identified anomalies.

Analyze and resolve problems associated with UNIX workstation and server hardware, operating systems, applications software, and adhere to mandated requirements and guidelines. 

Prepare, test, and implement scripts to simplify system tasks for domain core services. 

Perform backup and recovery procedures utilizing and managing media backup of RAID storage devices.

Maintain Test and Integration Facility workstations, and Test Bed workstations. 

Support Wing ISSO and local Network Security Managers to identify and resolve security related server, workstation and application issues. 

Support military and Government personnel on systems.


Qualifications

Five (5) plus years with hands-on and proven experience utilizing the following systems/tools:

UNIX, Oracle/Solaris OS, NIS+, WebLogic, Oracle is a plus.

Active Secret clearance required for this position
