Field Service Engineer II

Position Type: Direct Hire
Location: Pennsauken, NJ
Salary: $80,000+/annually

GA Rogers is proud to partner with a leading manufacturer of high-precision industrial equipment to find a skilled Field Service Engineer I. This role is based out of Pennsauken, NJ, and is ideal for a technician with a strong background in machining or grinding environments who is ready to take their career on the road.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of the company, ensuring that high-accuracy electro-chemical grinding systems are installed, maintained, and repaired to meet the exacting standards of the manufacturing industry.

The Opportunity

You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, diagnosing issues and restoring equipment performance. While you’ll initially focus on a specific product line to build expertise, there are

significant opportunities to cross-train on additional advanced equipment over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Support: Perform installations, commissioning, and routine preventative maintenance on precision grinding equipment.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, utilizing blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Precision Calibration: Assist with machine alignments and field modifications, ensuring dimensional tolerances and surface finishes meet critical specs.
  • Customer Excellence: Maintain clear communication with clients and document all service activities via a ticket management system.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside senior engineers to resolve complex technical challenges and escalate issues when necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Foundations: Proven experience with Machine Tools (Surface Grinders, Mills, or Lathes) is required.
  • Precision Knowledge: Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and a foundational understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Systems Expertise: Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, sensors, and motors. Experience with Mitsubishi Controls or G-Code is a significant plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving aptitude and the ability to work independently in various industrial settings.

Experience & Requirements

  • Education: Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Machining (equivalent hands-on experience also considered).
  • Experience: 2–5 years in field service, machine assembly, or industrial equipment support.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 50-75%, including overnight stays and occasional international travel.
  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work comfortably in manufacturing environments.
  • Credentials: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
