Description:

American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Maintenance Technicians for our Jefferson City, MO. This position will report to Maintenance Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Electrical: Know how to troubleshoot and read electrical prints.
  • Hydraulics: know how to troubleshoot and debug hydraulic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
  • Pneumatics: Know how to troubleshoot and debug pneumatic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
  • Know injection-molding machine general maintenance, troubleshooting, debugging and repair as needed.
  • Execute lock out/tag out procedures as required on all Injection and related equipment.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to prevent the occurrence of any downtime that can be avoided with proper preventative, predictive or continuous improvement ideas.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to determine root cause of equipment failures and implement a permanent solution.
  • Maintain Plant Facility and associated equipment.
  • Perform daily checks of all injection molding equipment as outlined on the preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Fork truck license, Man lift certificate, and crane operation required, will train to our specifics (not required, but a plus).
  • Owns and maintains the required basic set of tools needed to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

Below is the Fixed Schedule:

All (4) shifts A, B, C, D are scheduled on a 2/2/3. This schedule gives you a 3-day weekend every other week! The schedule pattern consists of four 12-Hour shifts who work two days in a row, get two days off and then work another three days, which results in only 14 working days each month!

Essential Job Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Eligible to work in the United States of America
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Authorize Background Check
  • Must be able to work a 12-Hour Shift
  • Prior Maintenance Technician experience required (injection molding experience a plus)
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills and be able to communicate on all levels.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, forklift experience or willing to learn.
  • Has basic ability in the following skills: welding; brazing; soldering, or silver brazing; refrigeration repair; machine shop training; fabrication in plastic; electronic repair; and/or mechanical engine repair, transmission repair, robotics.
