Job description

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for 46 consecutive years. The hotel is one of only 11 properties throughout North America to maintain the AAA Four Diamond designation since the inception of the Diamond Rating program in 1976.

What you will be doing:

         Promote excellent guest and associate rapport by responding promptly, efficiently, and courteously to all requests.

         Use the HotSOS app via iPod to receive and track assignments.

         Clean and maintain all assigned areas following established standards of cleanliness.

         Acknowledge and complete tasks from the daily assignment sheet provided by the Desk Attendant.

         Pick up and deliver supplies and other items as requested.

         Assist with general cleaning requests and special projects as directed.

         Use heavy equipment, including shampoo machines, to clean soiled carpets and upholstery.

         Report repair needs and maintenance issues through the HotSOS app and to housekeeping management.

         Maintain cleanliness of all public and back-of-house areas as assigned.

         Sweep and mop stairwells, back hallways, and closets regularly, using proper signage as needed.

         Ensure guest hallways remain clean and free of debris, and that all closets remain closed throughout the day.

         Assist with transporting deliveries to designated areas.

         Take responsibility for proper care of chemicals and equipment assigned.

         Promote safety and security in all assigned work areas.

         Support the work efforts of other housekeeping associates as directed.

         Follow all standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms, and appearance.

         Represent the hotel with professionalism and courtesy at all times.

         Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

Position Requirements:

         Ability to use all cleaning equipment and chemicals.

         Professional, well-groomed, and courteous demeanor.

         Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including the ability to lift over 100 lbs. and push carts weighing over 310 lbs.

         Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

         Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

         Ability to work under pressure and adapt to varied shifts.

         Basic English communication skills preferred.

         Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred.

         High school diploma or GED preferred.

         Must adhere to Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option for union membership after 90 days.
