Job description

We're searching for a houseperson with exceptional people skills who is enthusiastic and courteous to make sure our hotel guests have a wonderful stay. We require a multi-talented person capable of handling a wide range of duties. Responsibilities for this position include keeping hotel public areas clean such as hallways, meeting rooms, and lobbies. Additionally, you will help deliver guest-requested items such as amenities, rollaway beds, cribs, bedding, and performing any specially assigned tasks by housekeeping managers. Our ideal applicant has at least one year of housekeeping or houseperson experience, as well as a strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Responsibilities:
  • Restock linen supply on each floor by transporting clean linen to the housekeeping storage facilities
  • Begin each shift by visiting assigned floors and collect trash, dirty linen, and other materials as instructed by management
  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring, lobby, and other work areas
  • Provide the highest level of service by anticipating, listening attentively, and responding promptly to guests’ needs
  • Make deliveries to guest rooms for guest-requested items such as amenities, rollaway beds, cribs, bedding, and linens

Core Responsibilities

  • Public area cleaning: Keep lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms clean and presentable.
  • Supply support: Deliver linens, towels, and guest amenities to rooms or housekeeping staff.
  • Trash removal: Empty garbage bins in public and service areas.
  • Linen handling: Collect dirty linens and restock clean ones.
  • Room assistance: Help room attendants by stripping beds or preparing rooms for cleaning.

Operational Support

  • Event setup: Arrange and move furniture for meetings, banquets, or conferences.
  • Inventory checks: Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages.
  • Maintenance reporting: Report major issues (leaks, broken equipment, safety hazards) to the maintenance team.

Basic Maintenance Duties

  • Light repairs: Replace light bulbs, tighten loose fixtures, or fix minor issues.
  • Preventive checks: Inspect hallways and public areas for damage or wear.
  • Simple fixes: Unclog minor drains, reset tripped breakers (if trained), or adjust thermostats.
