Position Description: SUMMARY Provides miscellaneous customer service functions and maintenance of the property by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.? Loads, unloads and delivers guest baggage in a courteous, helpful manner.? Delivers messages and requested supplies to guestrooms in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction.? Assists in the security of the property including guests, employees, equipment and vehicles.? Cuts and trims grass and shovels snow.? Assists front desk by answering phones, delivering guest items (pillow, blankets, roll-aways, etc.), and providing guest service support. Provides breaks for front desk as needed.? Assists in keeping the parking lot clean and free of hazards.? Transports small equipment or tools between departments.? Transports customers as requested using company vehicles and obeying traffic laws.? Assists in setting up and cleaning up tables and chairs in banquet and meeting rooms.? May clean rooms or public areas as needed, including emptying wastebaskets and ashtrays and transporting trash and waste to disposal area, replenishing supplies in restrooms, delivering linen and replacing light bulbs.NHG POLICIES: Responsible for following all NHG policies and procedures as set forth in the NHG handbook and property specific guidelines/standards. These policies include dress code, safety and performance standards. Employees must also maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent or up to one-month related or transferable experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to complaints or inquiries from managers, customers, employees and general public. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees in person, via telephone or in writing.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to read, write and recognize numbers, comprehend signs and symbols.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: May require a valid drivers license, DOT qualification and/or valid CDL depending on business unit. Proof of insurability may also be required with MVR.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
