Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for daily cleaning and supplying of all areas according to schedules established by the EVS Department Director. General duties shall include: mopping, vacuuming, cleaning of lavatory, showers and furniture , stocking supplies, wall cleaning, dusting, fixture cleaning and other duties as assigned by Department Director and/or Supervisor.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Empties wastebaskets and ashtrays; disinfects and re-line wastebaskets. 
  2. Completes high and low dusting of all horizontal surfaces. 
  3. Damp wipe/spot clean furniture, shelving, light fixtures, walls, counter tops, windows, appliances, vents, and pictures. 
  4. Completes general bathroom/lavatory cleaning and polishing including disinfecting or toilet bowl, sink, and bathtub. 
  5. Cleans and polishes fixtures, mirrors, cabinets, and replenishes soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed. 
  6. Damp mops and vacuums floor surfaces. Spot cleans carpet on an as needed basis. 
  7. Inspects room for general cleanliness, proper arrangement of furniture, and possible project work that might need the attention of the Housekeeping and/or Maintenance Department. 
  8. Inspects drapes/cubicles for rips, tears, or excessive 
  9. Performs other related duties as directed or requi soilage. Report as needed. 
  10. Follows proper procedure in stripping, disinfecting, and re-making of bed. red. 
  11. Demonstrate understanding of HCA’s and “Patients First” safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.
