ย At the AYCC, we wholeheartedly appreciate our Housekeeping team! We are looking to add another member to our already great group of Housekeepers. You could be a part of a team that keeps our facility running safely, smoothly, and looking its best. This position is a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys hands-on tasks, and values being part of a collaborative team. A large part of our success at the AYCC is due to the hard work of our Housekeepers who work to keep the build looking brand new, maintain great customer service, and share positivity wherever they go. If you want to work hard with kind coworkers during your work week, being a Housekeeper could be right for you!


POSITION SUMMARY:ย 

This position is responsible for the cleanliness of the building, equipment, and grounds of the facility. Job duties may also include general and preventive maintenance and repairs, based on skillset, as required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Smoothly adapt to a changing environment
  • Work with a team to efficiently complete projects that include sanitizing, organizing, and setting up and breaking down equipment for events.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the building, utilizing custodial tools and cleaning products, according to schedule.
  • Acquire knowledge of cleaning chemicals their uses and hazards. Understand SDS.
  • Understand the proper operations of auto scrubbers and other custodial tools.
  • Understand building activities and Facilities support of these functions.
  • Assist in preparations for special events and programs.
  • Follow and thoroughly understand protocols to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
  • May be assigned to off-site properties, including our Camp Tracy summer camp.

Requirements

ย KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.ย ย 
  • Additional education in technical or vocational school would be beneficial.ย 
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning supplies, tools, machines, and equipment.ย ย 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior employment as a custodian, janitor, or maintenance person is desired.ย ย 

ย SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Friendly positive attitude and some customer service skills.ย 
  • Temperament and tolerance for a job that can be repetitive.
  • Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness of building.
  • Ability to work alone or with others in support of the team.
  • Ability to follow a timeline and adapt as needed

WORK SCEHDULE:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Variable as assigned. May include days, nights and weekends.
