Job Summary

The Housekeeping Assistant Manager supports the Director of Housekeeping in overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction. This role assists with team leadership, scheduling, training, quality inspections, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with hotel brand standards and company policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in supervising the daily operations of the Housekeeping department.
  • Conduct guest room and public area inspections to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of housekeeping associates.
  • Prepare daily room assignments and staffing schedules based on occupancy levels.
  • Ensure rooms are cleaned efficiently while maintaining brand standards.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery situations.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies and linens and assist with inventory control and ordering.
  • Coordinate with the Front Office and Engineering departments regarding room status, maintenance issues, and VIP arrivals.
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel SOPs, safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with payroll review, timecard approvals, and labor cost management.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to housekeeping operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping or General Manager.
 Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of housekeeping supervisory experience in a hotel environment.
  • Previous assistant manager experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Working knowledge of hotel PMS systems (Opera Cloud preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required.
  • Must be able to inspect guest rooms and public areas throughout the property.
