Job description

Housekeeping Assistants at Mill Street perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department to ensure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner. They will also provide assistance with transportation of residents to medical appointments. This position reports to the Director. Effective interpersonal and communication skills a positive, friendly attitude are a priority in this position. The incumbent has limited access to confidential information and must be able to maintain confidences. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Clean, wash, polish, sanitize, deodorize and disinfect all areas and items in the facility and resident apartments including furnishings, fixtures, trash bins, windows, mirrors, floors, carpets, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, etc., using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions and procedures.
  • Ensure that storage areas, equipment, work and supply carts are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed; coordinate housekeeping services with residents and other departments when performing routine cleaning assignments.
  • Perform day-to-day laundry functions and specific tasks as assigned and in accordance with established laundry procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Compensation
Hourly Wage Range: $16.18 - $22.30. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

  4. Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift and grasp items. Ability to talk and express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word in English. Ability to hear and receive detailed information through oral communication. Must be able to carry out repetitive motions, moving the wrists, hands and fingers. Visual acuity is essential.
