What You'll Do
As our Facilities and Maintenance Technician, you'll be the go-to person for all things maintenance! Here's a glimpse of your exciting responsibilities:
  • Utility Guru: Use your knowledge of well systems, septic systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical services, and backup generators to keep our facilities running smoothly. You'll be the expert we rely on!
  • Maintenance Coordinator: Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance appointments for any work that needs to be done outside of our in-house capabilities. Your organizational skills will shine!
  • Water Watcher: Conduct periodic water temperature checks and sprinkler system pressure recordings to ensure everything is functioning perfectly.
  • Handy Helper: Assist with general facility maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, and painting. Whether it's fixing a leaky faucet or sprucing up a room, you'll be ready to tackle it all!
  • Timely Taskmaster: Ensure all work is completed promptly and meets Newport Academy's high standards. Your attention to detail will keep everything in check!
  • Scheduling Pro: Schedule work effectively to minimize disruption to our programming and staff. You'll be the master of balancing priorities!
  • Contractor Collaborator: Maintain professional relationships with contractors to ensure smooth communication and efficient work.
  • Facility Inspector: Conduct periodic walk-throughs of the facility to document necessary repairs and ensure we meet Newport Academy standards. Your keen eye will help us stay ahead of any issues!
  • Safety Champion: Conduct quarterly and yearly testing of fire alarms and sprinkler systems to keep our environment safe and compliant.
