International financial institution seeks a bilingual Japanese team leader of General Affairs Department.\n
<\/p>\n

Responsible for managing the administrative function for Head Office expatriates in the U.S. offices.  <\/span>Responsibilities include: visa and staying permit extensions, individual income tax issues, health insurance and payroll monitoring, etc.  <\/span>Expatriate Benefit policies & procedures are managed according to Tokyo Head Office guidelines.\n

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include:\n
<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

General:\n
<\/p>\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Prepare visa application letters at the request of the Head Office.  <\/span>Monitor expiration dates of visa \/ staying permits \/ passports; prepare extension application in\-house of through immigration attorney.\n
<\/p>\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Make a first judgment in expatriate's benefit issues with minimal supervision, especially in areas that are not covered by Head Office policies & procedures.\n
<\/p>\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Respond to correspondence from IRS or other tax agencies on behalf of expatriates; consult with outside accounting firm on tax matters; ensure that individual income tax returns are mailed in a timely fashion.\n
<\/p>\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Manage communication with accountants on issues related to payroll; analyze discrepancies in external accounting firm's input and, when needed, correct errors by using knowledge in taxation and group's benefit plan.\n
<\/p>\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Manage communication with expatriates on General Administration issues such as visa applications, payroll, tax returns, and fringe benefits in support of expatriate's experience in the US.\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Five years general affairs (or similar) experience.\n
<\/p>\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to prioritize workload and management skills.\n
<\/p>\n

                     <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to work with minimal supervision while also keeping the Managing Director informed\n
<\/p>\n

\n                           <\/span><\/span><\/span>Full business level Japanese language fluency (speaking, reading, writing)\n
