Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Business Application Engineer in Lakeland, FL.
General Overview:
The Business Application Engineer works directly with business stakeholders to create data-based solutions that analyze performance and surface insights with data. This role is also responsible for integrating data between our various business applications, building automation within our systems to streamline workflows, and visualizing data in our reporting system of truth to enable better decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrations & Data Flow (Primary Focus):
* Design, build, and maintain integrations between Salesforce, NetSuite, and other systems using APIs and integration platforms (e.g., Tray.io or similar)
* Define and manage data flows, transformations, visualizations, and synchronization across systems
* Implement error handling, monitoring, and retry logic to ensure reliability
* Troubleshoot integration issues and identify root causes
Salesforce & System Automation:
* Build and maintain Salesforce automations (Flows, validation rules, process logic)
* Support data model design and ensure alignment with integration requirements
* Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems
* Optimize existing automations to reduce technical debt and improve performance
Stakeholder Interaction & Requirements:
* Meet with business stakeholders to understand and clarify system needs
* Translate business requests into actionable technical solutions
* Identify when requests do not address root problems and propose better alternatives
* Communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical users
System Reliability & Improvement:
* Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency
* Ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable
* Support deployment processes across environments (sandbox - production)
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-6+ years of experience in systems, integrations, or business applications roles
* Strong experience working with APIs (REST, webhooks, JSON)
* Experience with integration platforms or ETL tools (Tray.io, Workato, MuleSoft, etc.)
* Advanced knowledge of SQL or SOQL
* Understanding of data models and cross-system data relationships
* Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple systems
* Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
* Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred/Nice to Have:
* Experience with NetSuite or ERP systems
* Experience with these specific data platforms (Snowflake, Domo, Sigma)
* Experience in high-growth or complex operational environments
* Familiarity with Salesforce order of execution and automation best practices
* Experience with Salesforce administration and automation (Flows required)
* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Internet/Intranet software as well as spreadsheet and work processing software, and project management programs
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
