Job Description

Job Title: Cashier FLSA: Hourly

Unusual Working Conditions: Inside/Outside

A. Purpose: Maintain store standards and customer service, by processing sales accurately and efficiently at the cash register while being the first and last point of contact for all customers.

B. Job Duties:

Welcome all customers in a friendly, helpful, and professional way as they enter the store

Proficiency in the use the POS and other basic Eagle functions.

100% understanding and accuracy in ringing all items.

Address and attempt to resolve all customer complaints and may need to consult with General Manager.

Attempt troubleshooting of POS equipment and involve General Manager as needed.

Collaborates with associates to work toward team and company goals

Comply with safe food handling standards as set by Texas Health Code including having a food handlers certificate.

Execute Opening and Closing duties to company standard.

Maintain a balanced cash register and perform a shift count as needed.

Maintain a clean and organized appearance of register area and stock supplies as needed.

Maintain awareness of all promotions, advertisements and events.

Observe customers and identify signs of potential theft.

Orient, guide and direct customers in the store.

Partner with associates to ensure a pleasant, friendly and helpful environment for the customer by executing clean, stocked and recovery standards.

Perform daily tasks to completion as assigned by general manager.

Professionally answer phone calls, take orders over the phone as needed and use radios to communicate with associates.

Responsible for asking every customer to enroll in the Ace Rewards loyalty program while maintaining a minimum 65% average scan rate.

Responsible for farming and developing B2B relationships for all business customers

Responsible for recovery, stocking and selling all inventories in and around the immediate cash-wrap area, including handling and serving food and bulk food to customers.

C. Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent

Previous cashier, retail, or sales experience preferred

A commitment to service, excellence, and customer satisfaction with a friendly disposition

Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus

Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business

Basic math skills and detail oriented in cash transactions

Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task

Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn and takes initiative to get things done

Good judgment and decision-making skills

Great communication skills both verbally and written

Ability to assess customer concerns and provide solutions for customer satisfaction

D. Physical Demands:

Climb stairs and ladders using proper safety measures

Lifting up to 80 lbs.

Standing for lengthy periods of time (up to 10 hours or more)

Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching

Use of hands by utilizing POS

E. Work Environment:

Indoor facility where with moderate noise and temperature levels.

Ability to work fluctuating hours during peak seasons or as business necessitates

Ability to work other positions as needed to fill business needs and cover shifts for another employee

Follow all COVID-19 protocols as directed by management and local ordinances including wearing of masks and gloves at all time
