Filter Engineering Technician


Location: Orlando, FL | On-site

Job Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay: Based on experience


Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Filter Engineering Technician to support the testing, tuning, alignment, troubleshooting, and development of various RF and electronic filter products. This role will work closely with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot technical issues, support prototype development, analyze test results, and ensure products meet required specifications.

The technician will also provide technical guidance to other technicians and assemblers when needed and help identify and resolve issues at the component level.


Key Responsibilities


  • Independently set up test equipment and perform testing, tuning, and alignment of RF filters.
  • Work with different filter technologies, including LC, cavity, tubular, crystal, and other electronic filter designs.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and red-line documentation.
  • Perform troubleshooting down to the individual component level.
  • Support engineers with the development, testing, and troubleshooting of new prototypes.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements and implement approved modifications to prototypes.
  • Record, organize, and analyze test data and document changes made during prototype development.
  • Assist and provide technical direction to assemblers and other technicians when necessary.
  • Communicate technical issues, delays, and potential impacts to production schedules with supervisors and engineering personnel.
  • Maintain accurate test and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Handle ITAR-controlled technical information in accordance with applicable company procedures.
  • Perform additional technical duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Required Skills & Knowledge


  • Strong understanding of RF filters, electronic components, and filter tuning techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic products and identify component-level issues.
  • Ability to independently set up and operate electronic test equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, production, and assembly teams.


Experience & Education


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technician in an RF/electronic troubleshooting environment.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Experience with RF testing, filter tuning, alignment, or electronic troubleshooting is highly preferred.
