Registered Nurse - Dialysis Specialty in Shreveport, LA

What You'll Do

  • Provide inpatient dialysis care, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis (peritoneal dialysis experience not required)
  • Access fistulas and dialysis catheters, and perform water machine functionality checks
  • Independently manage patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Collaborate with charge nurses and support staff on patient treatments and safety protocols
  • Float between multiple facilities, maintaining high standards of care across all units
  • Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR

What You Need

Required:
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • 1+ year of inpatient dialysis experience (2+ years for first-time travelers in acute care)
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to travel between facilities, and proficiency with dialysis machines (Braun preferred)
Preferred:
  • CCHT certification
  • Experience with grafts, fistulas, and catheter access

About the Assignment Join a dynamic team supporting several facilities in the Shreveport area, including WKMC (WK North), Bossier, Pierremont, and South campuses. You will provide essential dialysis services in a busy, supportive environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while enjoying flexible scheduling and comprehensive support. The role includes limited holiday work, with holiday dates clearly scheduled, and a focus on quality patient care.
