Our hourly production roles offer hands-on experience in a clean, safe, and innovative manufacturing environment with opportunities for growth and development.  Whether you're mixing raw ingredients, operating machinery, or calibrating a machine ensuring products meet our strict quality standards, every team member plays a critical role in delivering trusted solutions to our customers.
Encapsulation Operator Responsibilities
  •  Set up, operate, and disassemble encapsulation equipment to support efficient production, cleaning, and sanitization.
  • Meet established production output standards while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and performance. 
  • Monitor equipment and make adjustments within established SOPs and training guidelines to maintain consistent operation and product quality. 
  • Communicate key production and equipment information during shift changes to support a smooth handoff and minimize downtime. Complete the Encapsulation Credentialed Training Program to develop the knowledge and skills required to operate equipment safely, effectively, and to quality standards. 
  • Cross-train in at least two additional production areas and support other areas as assigned by the supervisor.

WHAT YOU NEED
  • Minimum High school diploma or GED is required. 
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to safely work with ingredients and products that are derived from possibly allergenic sources including, but not limited to, nuts, soy, dairy, fish, and shellfish.    

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to work an entire 8 hour shift, when necessary, in an enclosed room.
  • Must be medically qualified to work while using a half-mask respirator or a full-air respirator for up to six hours at a time and be able to follow Thorne Research’s Respiratory Protection Program guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted.
  • Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned production equipment and machinery.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as circumstances arise during the course of a shift as well as climb a ladder unassisted.
  • Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, and clean production equipment, occasionally grasping with force and using twisting wrist movements, as well as climb a ladder unassisted.
  • Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively, during an 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shift.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder while carrying up to 20 pounds of material.
  • Must be able to print in a legible manner.
  • Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment.
  • Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively, during an 8-hour shift.
