Hourly Sprinter Owner Operator information

What is an hourly sprinter owner operator?

Hourly Sprinter Owner Operators are independent contractors who own or lease a Sprinter van and provide delivery or transportation services on an hourly basis. They typically work with logistics companies, courier services, or directly with businesses to transport goods locally or regionally. As owner operators, they are responsible for maintaining their vehicles, managing their schedules, and ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers flexibility and the potential for higher earnings, but also requires handling expenses such as fuel, insurance, and vehicle maintenance.

What are some common challenges hourly sprinter owner operators face on the job, and how can they be managed?

Hourly Sprinter Owner Operators often encounter challenges such as maintaining reliable vehicle performance, managing fluctuating demand for deliveries, and balancing time efficiently between multiple assignments. Staying proactive with vehicle maintenance and keeping clear communication with dispatchers can help minimize downtime and missed opportunities. Additionally, building strong relationships with clients and consistently delivering on time can lead to repeat business and smoother daily operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an hourly sprinter owner operator, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Hourly Sprinter Owner Operator, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), a clean driving record, and experience with cargo transport. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and basic vehicle maintenance tools is typically required. Strong time management, customer service, and problem-solving skills help you excel in handling deliveries and client interactions. These skills and qualifications ensure safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services, which are crucial for client satisfaction and business growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and support the evening team during daily restaurant operations

  • Deliver a friendly, welcoming and consistent guest experience

  • Coach team members and provide clear direction throughout the shift

  • Manage team deployment, breaks and shift priorities

  • Maintain standards for speed of service, food quality and order accuracy

  • Keep the restaurant clean, organized and ready for success

  • Support training and development of team members

  • Follow food safety, workplace safety and company operating procedures

  • Help build a positive, respectful and accountable team culture

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is required

  • Previous supervisory, leadership or management experience is required

  • Strong communication and people skills

  • A genuine passion for hospitality and serving guests

  • Dependable, organized and comfortable taking ownership of a shift

  • Available to work primarily evenings and weekends

We want a leader who works from the floor - not from the sidelines.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive hourly compensation

  • Consistent full-time hours

  • Training and leadership development

  • Opportunities for advancement within our organization

  • Employee discounts

  • A locally owned and operated environment where strong leaders can make a real impact
