Job description

Skid Steer Operator


Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our team in Edmonton.

Hourly wage: $35-$38


Duties include:

  • Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently on underground water and sewer projects.
  • Load, move, and distribute materials around active construction sites.
  • Assist with excavation support, backfilling, grading, site cleanup, and material handling.
  • Work safely in close proximity to existing underground utilities and ground personnel.
  • Operate equipment in residential, commercial, and other congested work environments.
  • Perform finish grading and final site preparation to project specifications.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance requirements.
  • Promote, follow, and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform all work safely while maintaining high quality standards and productivity.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of skid steer operating experience.
  • Experience working on underground water and sewer projects is preferred.
  • Experience working in congested residential and commercial environments.
  • Finish grading experience is required.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently while following direction from the Superintendent or Foreman.
  • Experience operating additional heavy equipment is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2
