This is an exceptional opportunity for a former military or law enforcement professional who is passionate about protecting people, building strong relationships, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for our congregants, students, staff, and visitors. The Security Manager plays a highly visible leadership role, working closely with Temple leadership, private security personnel, local law enforcement, and community security partners to maintain a culture of preparedness and excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the Temple's comprehensive security program across both campuses.
  • Supervise and coordinate the Temple's contracted security team, ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and performance.
  • Oversee security technologies including surveillance cameras, access control systems, emergency notification systems, alarms, and identification systems.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness and emergency preparedness training for staff.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning, active threat drills, CPR and Stop the Bleed training, and other safety initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local law enforcement, emergency responders, the Jewish Federation, Secure Community Network (SCN), ADL, and other community organizations.
  • Serve as the security lead for major Temple events, holidays, and special programs.
  • Monitor emerging security risks and recommend improvements to strengthen campus safety.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a confident leader with excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and a calm, professional presence.

Qualifications include:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Comfortable working with security technology, access control systems, and surveillance equipment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, vendors, and public safety partners.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all government licenses required to carry a firearm on Temple property.
  • Successful completion of a Level II Background Screening is required.

Schedule

This is a full-time position primarily working weekday business hours. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events is required as needed.
