Job description

Registered Nurse 1

As a Registered Nurse 1 on an assigned shift, you will provide professional nursing services appropriate to individuals served by the program to which you are assigned. Services may include, but are not limited to, nursing interventions and their documentation, case finding, health teaching/counseling and provision of supportive and/or restorative care. You will also participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team.

Temp Hourly Registered Nurse 1 will function as relief staff to provide nursing coverage in a chosen county. The Registered Nurse 1 role is essential to the health and safety as it pertains to the medical/nursing needs of our individuals residing in the community. With an aging population, their medical needs have and will continue to increase. A temp hourly Registered Nurse 1 will supplement care where additional Registered Nurse 1 coverage is required.

Primary duties and responsibilities include injections, feedings, wound care, insertion of catheters, ostomy care, and nursing assessments. Provides nursing care oversight, charts health status, transcribes physician's orders accurately, and ensures appropriate medical orders and follow up appointments are communicated within the work location. This position will be provided with a mentor for training.

Note: You must have a valid driver's license to apply as travel is a part of the duties involved in this position.

Must have a license and a current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
