Conference Merchandise Cashier / Event Retail Associate
Location: Kentucky International Convention Center – Louisville, KY
Pay: $20.00/hour
Employment Type: Temporary / One-Week Conference Assignment

Position Overview
Allegiance Staffing is hiring Conference Merchandise Cashiers / Event Retail Associates for a one-week conference at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville.

A merchandise company will be setting up a temporary retail store inside the conference venue to sell branded merchandise, apparel, and conference swag to attendees.

We are looking for friendly, outgoing, and dependable individuals with experience in cashiering, retail sales, customer service, event staffing, or POS systems. This is a great opportunity to earn $20/hour while working in an exciting conference environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a cash register and credit card machine for merchandise and swag sales
  • Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately
  • Greet conference attendees and provide excellent customer service
  • Answer basic questions regarding merchandise and available products
  • Count and verify the assigned cash bank at the beginning and end of the workday
  • Maintain accurate cash handling throughout the shift
  • Restock and organize merchandise throughout the conference
  • Keep checkout stations and merchandise displays clean and presentable
  • Assist customers with locating merchandise and making purchases
  • Support the merchandise team with additional event retail duties as needed
Conference Store Setup
Team members will also assist with setting up the temporary retail store before the conference begins.
Setup responsibilities may include:
  • Unpacking merchandise and conference swag
  • Organizing apparel and merchandise
  • Stocking tables, shelves, and displays
  • Preparing checkout stations
  • Organizing inventory for easy restocking
  • Assisting with general store setup and breakdown
Qualifications
  • Previous cashier, retail, customer service, merchandise sales, or event staffing experience preferred
  • Experience operating a cash register, POS system, or credit card machine is a plus
  • Comfortable handling cash and making change accurately
  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional when interacting with conference attendees
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced conference environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an event team
  • Must be available for the scheduled conference assignment
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for the full workday
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements while operating a register
  • Ability to assist with merchandise setup, stocking, and organization
  • Comfortable walking and remaining on your feet throughout the shift
Pay & Assignment Details
  • $20.00 per hour
