Job Title: Director, Clinical Health Center Workforce Development

Location: Bethesda, Maryland (Remote)

Reports To: Chief Health Officer

Position Summary:

Provides strategic and hands-on leadership in the design, implementation, evaluation, and operational management of NACHC’s clinical health center workforce development and clinical leadership programs. Oversees the Community Health clinical workforce portfolio and ensures alignment with NACHC’s mission, vision, strategic priorities, and organizational performance goals.

Key Responsibilities:
    1. Program Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a highperforming clinical workforce team with 2 direct reports dedicated to supporting the clinical health center workforce.
  • Apply principles of evidencebased practice, quality improvement, implementation science, and datadriven decisionmaking to guide program direction and NACHC’s workforce strategy.
    1. 2. Project and Content Management
  • Direct the design and execution of complex projects.
  • Oversee qualitative and quantitative data activities, including detailed analysis and effective visualization to inform decisionmaking.
  • Lead the development of tools, resources, publications, presentations, and multimedia training content.
  • Translate best practices, evidencebased models, implementation strategies, and lessons learned into actionable guidance.
  • Contribute to ongoing optimization of NACHC’s enterprise learning platforms to enhance user experience and learning impact.
  • Participate in shared workspaces and collaboration systems (Teams, SharePoint, Asana, Cobblestone, Grant Seeker, and Grantmaker, etc.).
    1. 3. Collaboration and Partnerships
  • Collaborate with the Chief Health Officer, Community Health Directors, and crossfunctional leadership and teams to advance NACHC’s national clinical workforce strategy and priorities.
  • Provide staff leadership for oral health, service integration, teambased care models, and the Workforce Committee and its Subcommittees.
  • Strengthen partnerships with academic institutions and support collaborative initiatives that expand clinical workforce development pathways.
  • Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with national organizations, federal agencies, PCAs, HCCNs, and other stakeholders to advance clinical workforce priorities.
    1. 4. Organizational Contributions
  • Contribute clinical workforce subject matter expertise at NACHC conferences, Membership Engagement Groups (Committees and Subcommittees), and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Represent NACHC in national forums and stakeholder engagements.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to health centers, PCAs, and HCCNs.
    1. 5. Business Operations
  • Ensure sound operational and financial stewardship aligned with OMB requirements, audit standards, and organizational policies.
  • Oversee effective vendor and consultant management to support programmatic needs.
  • Support proposal development, RFP processes, contracting, invoicing, and reporting to ensure compliance and program sustainability.

    Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • LCSW, RN, PA, NP, or Dental degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical workforce development, preferably in outpatient and/or safety net settings.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing national and/or largescale projects.
  • Professional Experience:
  • Demonstrated success in designing and managing clinical workforce development initiatives in the health center environment.
  • Expertise in quality improvement, implementation science, and datadriven program strategies.
  • Proven leadership experience in partnership development, project management, personnel management, and budget stewardship.
  • Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a focus on outcomes.
  • Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies and implementation science.
  • Expertise in applying evidencebased clinical models and datainformed coaching.
  • Advanced capabilities in data analysis and visualization.
  • Effective leadership in team development and organizational change.
  • Experience in funding diversification and business operations.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage complex strategic partnerships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including proposal development and presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated experience using project and grants management software.
  • 10% travel to NACHC conferences and external engagements.
