What does a reference laboratory do?

A reference laboratory performs specialized testing and analysis on samples to confirm, validate, or support diagnoses made by other laboratories or healthcare providers. They often handle complex, high-precision tests and may require certifications and advanced equipment. Their work ensures accuracy and reliability in diagnostic results across various medical and scientific fields.
