Job description

Supervise hourly production employees assigned to his/her shift.

  • Work in conjunction with Maintenance Supervisor and mechanics, Warehouse Manager, forklift drivers, Quality Assurance manager and QA technicians, purchasing, scheduling, R&D, Sales, and Administration personnel.
  • Lead the way onto our Lean journey.
  • Develop and implement new processes in accordance with our Lean program.
  • Implement and maintain visual management tools.
  • Analyze operational data to determine inefficiencies and develop corrective actions.
  • Work with different leaders to develop our lean culture to "best in class"
  • Challenge the company's lean thinking and develop visual representations of what optimal processes look like.
  • Reporting results to the departmental teams.
  • Inform Plant Operations leader and keep up to date information on lean improvements.
  • Enforce all company safety rules. Properly train all production employees in safe operating procedures and work practices. Ensure all machinery is in safe working condition. Identify and report potential safety hazards.
  • In the event of an emergency responsible for safe evacuation of the production employees in the building.
  • Ensure production employees follow all operating procedures. Continuously monitor quality and take appropriate action to prevent out of spec products from being produced.
  • Investigate causes of any out of spec production.

Education and Experience Years of Experience 5 years in a Production Supervisor role in food industry. Education High School Diploma or General Education Degree. (University or Technical School) Related field of study: Food Technology, Manufacturing, or related.
