Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure that all production equipment and plant utilities are functioning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Diagnose / troubleshoot repair deficiencies involving the equipment affecting the production of pressure sensitive labels and coupons.
  • Provide mechanical, and pneumatic repair / set-up service in assisting with special set-ups of producing labels and coupons.
  • Coordinate with requests from process engineer as necessary.
  • Building repairs - heat, light, hot / cold water and air conditioning.
  • Dismantles machines or equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
  • Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
  • Clears clogged drains, and replaces plumbing fixtures.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures and tools.
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned

$20-$25 per hour
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • Minimum experience required is 1-2 years.
  • safety training certification and a state driver's license required. Also, experience with pnuematics, hydraulics, and mechanical troubleshooting / repair experience required.
  • The minimum related language skills required for this position is the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and numerical data. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and employees.
  • This position requires an ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply abstract and concrete variables.

Safety Glasses must be worn in required areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
