Job description

Your Opportunity as our Corporate Pilot

We are seeking a highly skilled, safety-conscious, and team-oriented Corporate Pilot to join our aviation team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of J.M. Smucker personnel and company guests on both domestic and international flights. Key duties include ensuring the aircraft is airworthy and operating within all performance parameters, researching current weather conditions, and calculating and filing IFR flight plans. As part of our well-established Part 91 flight department, pilots enjoy the stability and structure of a professionally managed operation. Our team benefits from a dedicated aviation facility, full-time scheduling support, and an in-house maintenance staff.

Location: North Canton, OH

Work Arrangements: This position offers a highly desirable work-life balance, flying 250-300 hours per year, with a predictable weekend and holiday on call rotation. Candidates must reside in - or be willing to relocate to within - one hour's driving distance of the Akron-Canton Airport. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

In this role you will:

  • Maintain and promote a culture of safety, ensuring efficient flight operations that support the highest level of customer service.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to flight crews, ensuring adherence to safety standards and optimal flight performance.

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of flights, from pre-flight planning to post-flight procedures.

  • Comply with all relevant regulations and J.M. Smucker policies regarding flight operations.

  • Ensure that assigned aircraft are properly equipped, airworthy, and compliant with FAA and ICAO regulations.

  • Complete all necessary forms and documentation as required by J.M. Smucker policies for each assigned flight.

  • Follow J.M. Smucker policies for destination airport operations, including fuel procurement, aircraft security, and coordination with passengers, dispatch officers, and other relevant agencies.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • At least 2,000 total flight hours

  • At least 500 hours in a multi-engine turbojet or multi-engine turboprop aircraft

  • Experience in a multi crew environment

  • Air Transport Pilot License (ATP)

  • Valid driver's license

  • Valid passport

  • Valid FAA First Class Medical certificate

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills

  • Team oriented and strong collaboration skills

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

  • At least 3,500 total flight hours

  • At least 1,000 hours as PIC in a multi crew environment

  • At least 1,000 hours in a multi engine turbine aircraft

  • DA-EASY or DA-2EASY type rating

  • FCC Radio Telephone Operator's Permit
