Job description

Quality Auditor - 2ndShift
Primary Job Function:
Identify and report causes of production variances to designated authority. Support the Press/Assembly Production Departments with data, charts and technical assistance. Evaluate assemblies for weld discontinuities. Drive internal quality loops in conjunction with the Engineering/management team. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management. Regular attendance is required.
Pay Range:
  • Starting at $20 hourly
  • Additional $1.00 premium for 2nd and 3rd shift
Shift Hours:
  • 1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: 2pm-10:30pm
  • 3rd Shift: 10pm-6:30am

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Plans and performs First/Middle/Last piece production approval part inspections, testing and auditing of various components, subassemblies and finished products with an emphasis on utilizing such data for improvements in products, processes and/or systems
  • Assists in the monitoring of inspection procedures such as Lot Audit, 50/100pc, customer specific inspections. Assist in the development of countermeasures
  • Team problem solving with the use of SPC data collected from production centers: Press/Assembly Departments
  • Team participation in new production launch projects to ensure Quality requirements are cascaded throughout production streams
  • Participate in improvement activities using 5S/TPM Processes
  • Review Data prior to downloading into Transend and send to CM4D
  • Perform Ultrasonic test
  • Transfer assemblies to and from evaluation room and record each piece
  • Evaluate all welds / fasteners in assembly
  • Record daily data for tracking on capability sheets on each shift
  • Report weld inconsistencies to Facilitators and Team Leaders
  • Complete special studies as required
  • Maintain tools and equipment in required working condition
  • Perform Dock Audits as required

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong SPC training experience and knowledge, as well as demonstrated leadership skills
  • Basic computer skills in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Datamyte, CM4D operation and analysis preferred
  • General knowledge for identification of sheet metal/aluminum defects
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, press, assembly and quality processes
  • Previous experience working with Quality preferred

Health, Safety and Physical Demand Requirements:
  • Ability to walk, sit or stand for extensive periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pulling, griping, twisting, throughout the work day.
  • Hand and eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment.
