Job description

Creative Environments Weld Shop Supervisor is tasked with overseeing all in-house projects and management of the welding team. This would include all metal work, scheduling coordination, inventory, equipment, training and compliance. Daily tracking and completion of projects will be communicated via email and weekly submittals of progress reports. The Weld Shop Supervisor must have a background in welding, as well as an understanding in servant leadership
Responsibilities:
  • Working with the welding team to provide support and guidance through deadlines and any questions they may have.
  • Tracking all metal work inventory being purchased for jobs and allocating it to the right job number when material is used.
  • Give weekly inventory counts, via excel spreadsheet.
  • Use software provided to help track house projects, this will be submitted weekly for overview on projects.
  • Provide a structured schedule for the welding team to utilize and follow to ensure maximum production.
  • Make sure all safety measures and gear are being utilized while running any CE machinery.
  • Train new hires accordingly while also providing a step-by-step SOP for them to refer to.
  • Communicate daily with the team on deadlines and report back to the Production Specialist if setbacks are to occur.
  • Resolve any conflicts within the welding team and provide support when issues arise, showing a guiding hand.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Requirements:
  • Must have an associate's degree in welding, engineering or manufacturing management.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years in welding along with handling various types of metals.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, and be a well written communicator.
  • Have impeccable leadership qualities and experience.
  • Understand the importance of safety gear while operating heavy duty machinery.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday in a welding and fabrication shop environment.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds independently, with heavier materials handled using team lifting techniques or appropriate mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment that may include exposure to heat, sparks, welding fumes, dust, noise, moving equipment, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to perform computer and administrative tasks, including typing, data entry, inventory tracking, scheduling, and preparation of reports
