Job description

Corpus Christi, TX
Central Southern Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Transport Driver to support our civil construction operations in and around Corpus Christi, Texas. This position is responsible for safely transporting heavy construction equipment to and from project sites using a lowboy trailer while ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Responsibilities
• Safely transport heavy construction equipment using a lowboy trailer.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, motor graders, and other heavy machinery.
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections.
• Ensure all loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations.
• Coordinate deliveries and pickups with project managers and superintendents.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation.
• Assist with equipment loading and unloading as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Follow all company safety policies and DOT requirements.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and the public.
Qualifications
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years of heavy haul transportation experience.
• Previous lowboy hauling experience is required.
• Experience transporting heavy construction equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, oversized load requirements, and cargo securement.
• Ability to safely load and unload heavy equipment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and MVR review.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience obtaining or traveling with oversized load permits.
• Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.
• TWIC card is a plus.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb on and off trucks and equipment safely.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to travel as needed.
