THIS ROLE OFFERS A $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS THAT WILL BE PAID OUT AS FOLLOWS:

$500 AFTER 3 MONTHS OF FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT (1ST PAYMENT)

Job purpose

The Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring that all collections and deliveries are completed. They will also be responsible for monitoring the activities of the Drivers ensuring ensure that all goods are collected and delivered in a timely manner, safely and in accordance with company policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Emails/Communication

    • Respond to internal and external emailstimelyand in a professional manner
    • Communicate with Vendors and airlines requesting information as needed.
    • Ensure that all communication between drivers and dispatch is clear,conciseand professional.
    • Maintain constant communication with all departments to ensure the success of all shipments
    • Maintain constant communication with the importsdepartmentensuring that all flights are cleared and collected to meet deadlines.
    • Answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.

    Lightening

    • Monitor the collection screenensuringthat all jobs are dispatchedtimelybased on company standards using the current TMS.
    • Verify all notes and instructions before dispatching a driver to a job.
    • Ensure that all Airport shipments arecollected timelyusing the current TMS.
    • Review the trip sheets throughout the day ensuring that all shipments are delivered on time andPOD’Sare entered.
    • Ensure that a failure type is entered into any job delivered late, with a detailed note as to why the shipment was late. Same apply for any missed collections
    • Report delays immediately to customer service by verbal communication and utilizing the incident system in our current TMS.
    • Perform daily Inspections of company vehicles to ensure that they are clean, smoke free and there are no new damages to the vehicle

Additional Tasks

  • Ensure that all TSA guidelines are carried out such as (ID Checks, CTS forms, Locked vehicles and chain of custody is maintained for every shipment)
  • Maintain constant contact with drivers to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Monitor drivers to ensure that the most efficient routes are being utilized by use of the vehicle tracking software.
  • Ensure the Vehicle tracking device is accurate with driver’s name and scheduled time of use
  • Break down of all inbound flights ensuring that all pieces are accounted for and in good condition
  • Ensure that all packages and secured and transported in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for always keeping the workspace and warehouse clean.
  • Liaise with the Operations team to ensure that all flights depart the warehouse in a timely manner to achieve the airline cut off times.
  • Ensure that all drivers have the necessary supplies needed such as boxes, tape and necessary documents needed to complete their daily functions.
  • Perform driver duties such as collections or deliveries in the event there are no drivers available to do so.
  • Report any damages or maintenance issues to the supervisor
  • Report any issues to management immediately via phone and or email.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Minimum 1 year of prior dispatch experience in the logistics field

  • Proficiency with MS office, windows OS, email and internet usage/research

  • Knowledge of computer operations sufficient to enter, retrieve and manipulate data with attention to detail.

  • Effectively prioritize situations and make decisions based on the information received

  • Able to handle multiple tasks to receive and communicate information to and from several sources ensuring calls for service are dispatched and monitored in a timely manner

  • Work under stressful conditions and react appropriately using good judgment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in English

  • Knowledge of geography preferred, not required

  • Professional and positive attitude

Working Conditions/Physicals Requirements

  • Flexibility with shift/schedule
  • Working in a warehouse setting at times
  • Ability to be able to lift upto 70lbs
  • Assisting with Loading and unloading of cargo into vehicles
  • Ability to sit, talk and hear
  • Ability to function in work environment with moderate noise level from several sources creating constant activity.

Compensation

$22.00 - $24.00 Per Hour (Entry Level Role)
