The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Animal Protection Customer Service Specialist in the Department of Community Development Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, performs specialized duties within Animal Protection Services, assists customers with requests and issues regarding City animal protection services; and performs related duties as assigned.

Position Details:

The ideal candidate for this position would have general clerical and forward facing customer service experience, predominately in animal care or veterinary hospitals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent

  • Two (2) years of experience performing general clerical and customer service duties involving direct contact with the public

  • Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered

  • Sufficient keyboarding skills of 25 net words per minute

Skill-Based Keyboarding Examination - Remote/Online (Pass/Fail): Test invitations and instructions will be sent after the position closes.

The selection process will begin with an employment application package screening, with the best-qualified candidates being invited to participate further in the assessment process. This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.     BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
  • Three consecutive days of leave, with pay, per occurrence, to attend funeral for immediate family member; increased to one work week when funeral is held 400 statute miles or more from City of Henderson

  • 13 paid holidays per year

  • Two (2) floating holidays per year

  • The ability to bank holidays, up to 228 hours, that fall on an employee’s regularly scheduled day off

WORK WEEK

  • Four-day, 9.5-hour workday, 38-hour work week

  • Three-day, 12-hour workday, 38-hour work week for certain positions

UNIFORM ALLOWANCE

  • Uniform Allowance - $85.00 per month to employees required to wear a uniform, or $115.00 if required to wear fire retardant clothing

  • A $175.00 shoe allowance is provided on an annual basis to those employees required to wear ANSI Z41-1991 or above rated safety shoes
