Job Title: Technical Lead - Java & Cloud Development
Location: Phoenix, AZ or Southlake, TX (On-site 4 days per week)
Compensation: $70.00 - $75.00/hr

About the Role
Our client's Equity Compensation Services team focuses on supporting equity compensation for B2B clients. The primary mission of this role is to launch a consolidated platform of microsites that combines segregated applications into a single, holistic user experience. Fueled by a diverse team of talented professionals, you will balance excellent customer support with sustaining engineering objectives to deliver best-in-class products.
Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Technical Leadership: Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
  • Scrum Team Coaching: Guide a scrum team in Java and Cloud Development platforms, encompassing frontend and backend technologies like Spring Boot and PCF.
  • Code Quality & Security: Act as the team's security champion by evaluating and resolving vulnerabilities. Ensure deliverables meet strict standards for code quality, reusability, performance, and best coding practices.
  • System Design & Architecture: Prepare high-level design, system design, and architecture documentation, and secure approvals from the enterprise architecture team.
  • Continuous Integration/Deployment: Configure automated builds and deployments using tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, GitHub, or Travis CI. Create Bamboo pipelines for CI/CD into PCF environments.
  • Team Collaboration: Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and coordinate workflows with offshore development and testing teams.
  • Innovation: Lead development on Proof-of-Concept projects to establish reusable patterns and investigate alternative technologies for architectural review.
  • Agile Participation: Actively participate in all agile ceremonies and lead technology solutioning across a large engineering space.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of software development experience with a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Cloud platforms, REST, microservices, and micro-UI development.
  • Proven experience coaching junior and staff-level developers.
  • Strong expertise in system design, ranging from mid-scale to enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate proposed architecture and leadership goals into detailed technical design documents and engineering roadmaps.
  • Comprehensive experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to design for both functional and non-functional requirements, including availability, resiliency, security, and performance.
  • 1-3 years of experience utilizing Atlassian tool suites (Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Proficiency using IDEs and GIT repositories for code management.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and exposure to front-end design/coding with Angular or similar frameworks.
