Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Inventory Clerk to support warehouse and fuel inventory operations. This role involves tracking, receiving, stocking, transferring, and preparing fuel and lubricant products while maintaining accurate database records and ensuring full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a hands-on industrial environment and operating both computer systems and material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate computer systems and maintain databases using MS Excel and Word
- Receive, issue, count, and track incoming specimens (2 oz. – 68 gallons)
- Stock and organize fuel and lubricant inventory
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and update spreadsheets/databases
- Prepare products for shipping in accordance with DOT and TCEQ regulations
- Compile and maintain purchase orders, requisitions, and manifests
- Off-load fuel from delivery trucks into storage and dispensing tanks
- Transfer fuels between tanks as requested and document all transactions
- Prepare samples for disposal and ensure proper hazardous material handling
- Crush containers after disposal and organize lubricant samples for storage
- Communicate inventory status with engineers, clients, and project leaders
- Operate forklift, golf cart, and commercial fuel truck (1K–4K capacity) on-site
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and TCEQ regulations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 Years experience required minimum
- Basic to intermediate computer skills (Excel & Word)
- General knowledge of warehouse inventory control systems
- Experience maintaining inventory spreadsheets and databases
- Understanding of hazardous material handling and disposal practices
- Knowledge of NFPA labeling standards
- Ability to maintain quality service standards
- Strong communication skills with team members and leadership
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks while maintaining a safety-first mindset
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Physical Requirements
- Lift 50+ lbs (with assistance)
- Drive between buildings delivering and picking up samples (fuel, oil, lubricants)
- Operate forklift or golf cart for loading/unloading containers and totes
- Handle bulk fuel containers ranging from small samples to 68-gallon units
Work Environment
This position operates in a warehouse/industrial setting with regular handling of fuel and lubricant materials. Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times.
