About the PositionCurious what it’s like to work for the largest distributor of Gamewell-FCI systems in the United States? Then look no further than this Fire Alarm Systems Programmer opportunity at Power Design. In this role, you’ll have access to innovative technologies and will be responsible for designing, executing, developing, and supporting programs throughout the lifecycle of a project within the systems architecture. While working at our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida – the base of our entire operation – you will remotely communicate with field technicians on any field changes, acting as a liaison between the technicians and the design team to facilitate system start-ups.Position ResponsibilitiesDevelop, write, and maintain fire alarm system programs for Power Design projects in production.Implement efficient methods to streamline fire alarm systems programming methodology.Lead in program design, benchmark testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.Apply technical knowledge of fire alarm systems to facilitate in the development of functional solutions, providing mentorship and guidance to systems field technicians.Collaborate with relevant departments to determine system installation and functionality requirements, while maintaining standardized programming methods.Provide support in configuring, developing, and documenting programs throughout the project lifecycle.Assist technicians remotely with system startups timely and accurately, meeting program schedule expectations.Assist in implementing training objectives to improve installation quality.Here’s What We’re Looking For5–8+ years of experience in the fire alarm industry, including several years of hands-on technical experience in the field.Extensive knowledge of fire alarm as an industry, including high-rise applications and smoke control.Strong understanding of fire alarm programming, troubleshooting, and integration with related building systems.At Power Design, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
