Job description

Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers. Brown & Brown is seeking a VP Financial Analytics & Modeling Leader to join our growing team! This senior leader will define and drive the financial analytics strategy across our national pharmacy consulting practice, leading a high-performing team of actuaries and analysts and influencing the future direction of our financial products, tools, and methodologies. You will serve as a strategic advisor to internal leadership and clients, while establishing direction for financial modeling frameworks, analytics platforms, and talent development across the organization.

How You Will Contribute
  • Lead and develop the national financial analytics team, including mentoring, structuring, and scaling talent to support growth and innovation.
  • Define the evolution of financial models and tools, ensuring alignment with emerging PBM pricing structures (e.g., transparent/pass-through models, alternative rebate structures, and value-based arrangements).
  • Drive innovation in financial analytics, identifying opportunities to enhance our proprietary tools to improve insights, automation, and scalability.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert on PBM financial structures, contract terms, and pricing mechanics, supporting complex client engagements and negotiations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with divisional leadership, client engagement, and product teams to advance integrated solutions and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide strategic oversight of financial deliverables, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and high-quality outputs across all client work.
  • Guide complex financial analyses tied to PBM contracts, pricing guarantees, rebate structures, and total cost of care evaluation.
  • Influence thought leadership and market positioning, contributing to internal strategy discussions and external-facing insights on pharmacy benefit trends.
  • Drive process standardization and scalability, improving workflow, governance, and quality assurance across financial analytics operations.
  • Own the development and governance of pharmacy trend assumptions and actuarial forecasting methodologies, ensuring models accurately reflect market dynamics, utilization changes, inflationary pressures, specialty drug pipeline impacts, biosimilar adoption, and evolving PBM contracting structures.
Skills & Experience to be Successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, or related analytical discipline (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • Actuarial designation (ASA, FSA, MAAA) preferred, or equivalent experience developing actuarial-based forecasting methodologies within healthcare, pharmacy benefits, or related industries.
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmacy benefit consulting, PBM financial analysis, or related healthcare financial strategy roles.
  • Deep expertise in PBM financial models, pricing structures, contract terms, and industry trends.
  • Strong actuarial and forecasting acumen with experience developing utilization, cost, rebate, and specialty trend assumptions for healthcare or pharmacy financial models.
  • Experience designing or evolving proprietary analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of emerging pharmacy benefit trends, including specialty drug management, biosimilars, and alternative funding programs.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing analytics or consulting teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into actionable business direction.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience working with large datasets, pharmacy and medical claims data, and relational databases.

Pay Range $200,000 - $275,000 Annual The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
