Job description

Build Your Practice with Pioneer Equine Hospital

Pioneer Equine Hospital is seeking an ambulatory veterinarian to serve our established East Bay clientele. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys the variety of equine practice, including preventive care, reproduction, and emergency work, while being supported by one of Northern California's premier equine hospitals.

You'll work primarily in the field with a loyal and growing client base located approximately 45 minutes from our hospital. Whether you're an experienced practitioner or a newer veterinarian looking to develop your skills, you'll have access to advanced diagnostics, collaborative colleagues, and a team committed to providing exceptional patient care.

About the Position

  • Primarily ambulatory practice serving a well-established East Bay clientele
  • Diverse caseload including preventive care, sports medicine, reproduction, dentistry, and emergencies
  • Approximately 50% on-call responsibilities with a currently light emergency caseload. As the caseload expands, more associates will be hired, and the percentage responsibility will decrease.
  • Fully equipped veterinary vehicle provided, including digital radiography, ultrasound, gastroscopy, point of care diagnostics and orthobiologics, etc.
  • Strong support from experienced veterinarians, interns, technicians, and hospital staff
  • Access to advanced diagnostics, surgery, and referral services through Pioneer Equine Hospital
  • Opportunity to develop areas of special interest while maintaining a broad equine practice
  • The expected salary/hourly range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 per year. The final compensation offered may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.
  • Production bonus-eligible based on collections and eligibility criteria.
  • Benefits for this role may include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), retirement benefits, paid time off (including sick leave and vacation), short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.

Why Pioneer?

Pioneer Equine Hospital combines the resources of a leading referral center with the culture of collaborative private practice. Our veterinarians enjoy professional autonomy, strong mentorship, excellent support staff, and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients throughout Northern California.

If you're looking for a position that offers variety, professional growth, and the chance to practice high-quality equine medicine in one of California's most desirable regions, we'd love to hear from you! Text or call McClure at 828.434.8340 or email mcclure.jackson-cathcart@nva.com
