Position Summary:
The Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician IV is a senior-level maintenance professional responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of complex electrical, mechanical, and automated systems. This role serves as a technical expert and shift or project lead, supporting critical asset uptime, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Technician IV mentors junior technicians and works closely with operations, engineering, and planning to ensure reliable, efficient plant performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems up to 480V
  • Maintain and modify motor control circuits, VFDs, soft starters, and MCCs
  • Interpret and update electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and panel layouts
  • Perform electrical panel construction, upgrades, and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E standards
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
  • Perform precision alignment, bearing replacement, and mechanical rebuilds
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems (valves, cylinders, regulators)
  • Fabricate components as needed, including welding and cutting operations
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, and P&IDs
  • Troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and HMIs
  • Diagnose I/O, communication, and network faults
  • Perform minor PLC logic and HMI modifications following MOC procedures
  • Support system improvements and documentation updates
  • Act as lead technician during assigned shifts or maintenance projects
  • Coach and train Technician Iโ€“III employees
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations and engineering
  • Assist with root cause analysis and reliability improvement efforts
  • Utilize CMMS to manage work orders, PMs, and asset history
  • Develop, refine, and document preventive maintenance procedures
  • Accurately document repairs, troubleshooting, and corrective actions
  • Follow and enforce safety policies, procedures, and permits
  • Conduct work in accordance with LOTO, confined space, and arc flash requirements
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture and stop work when unsafe conditions exist
  • All other duties and projects assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience with electrical and mechanical systems
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead others when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or trade certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • PLC experience (Allenโ€‘Bradley preferred)
  • Industrial maintenance or reliability certifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Manufacturer training in PLCs, VFDs, or automation systems

Full-time hourly: $35.00 - $40.00 dependent upon experience, and qualifications.
