Job description

About the Role

Biztec LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to serve as the lead installer on commercial physical security projects. Building on strong field fundamentals, you'll take ownership of complex installations — with an advanced focus on access control and low-voltage

cabling — while ensuring work is completed to code, on schedule, and to the highest quality standard.

As the senior technician on site, you'll not only install and commission systems but also mentor junior installers, troubleshoot difficult issues, and act as the technical point person for the crew. This role is a natural step up for a technician with 3–5 years of experience and the

licensing to match.

What You'll Do

Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of access control, video surveillance, intrusion/alarm, and low-voltage systems.

Perform advanced access control installation, programming, and troubleshooting.

Plan and execute low-voltage cable runs to NEC and industry standards.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, riser diagrams, and specifications.

Terminate, test, and commission systems; diagnose and resolve complex system and network issues.

Serve as the senior on-site technician, ensuring quality, code compliance, and adherence to scope.

Mentor and provide technical direction to entry-level installers.

Coordinate with the project manager on schedule, materials, and scope.

Represent Biztec professionally in front of clients and other trades on site.

Maintain tools, test equipment, company vehicle, and inventory.

Uphold NEC compliance and all safety practices on every job site.

What You Bring

Required

One of the following active licenses: Alarm, ELE (Electrical), or Low Voltage.

3–5 years of experience installing physical security and low-voltage systems.

Advanced understanding of access control systems and low-voltage cable runs.

Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and riser diagrams.

Proficiency with hand and power tools and test equipment.

Comfortable working on ladders and lifts, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred

NICET certification.

Manufacturer certifications (e.g., access control platforms such as software-based systems).

Working knowledge of IP networking as it relates to security systems.

Additional licenses beyond the one required.

Travel & Schedule

This role requires weekly travel to job sites.

Per diem is provided, and hotel/lodging is paid for by the company while traveling.

At times, work may follow a 14-day-on / 7-day-off rotation schedule.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience and licensing.

Company vehicle provided.

Overtime opportunities.

Health, dental, and vision insurance.

401(k) with company match.

Paid time off and holidays.

Paid advanced training and certification opportunities.

Clear path for advancement into lead, project management, or operations roles.
