Job Title:Catering Server

Pay Details:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.

Servers are primarily responsible for establishing a hospitable dining experience with positive guest interactions. Servers are also responsible for providing quality service by taking guests' food and beverage orders, providing menu details and recommendations in accordance to guests' desires, and serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly and hospitable manner; ensure guests have a positive dining experience; acknowledge special requests and/or dietary restrictions

  • Take food and beverage orders for all guests in each party; make recommendations in accordance to guests' requests; sell/upsell daily specials

  • Serve any/all alcoholic beverages responsibly by strictly adhering to responsible alcohol service guidelines; properly identify age requirements of all customers

  • Possess knowledge of complete menu offerings, including production specifications, ingredients, cooking times, presentation/packaging, etc.

  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of guest(s)' orders; ensure thorough and detailed communication of any/all dietary restrictions/allergies

  • Deliver professional, courteous, and efficient service to guests.

  • Present guests with check and settle payment in a timely and professional manner; ensure accurate processing of cash payments.

  • Responsible for completing all station set-up, breakdown, and cleaning duties

  • Maintain knowledge of restaurant happenings, including menu updates, operational guidelines, service hours, special offerings, etc.

  • Support all team members to ensure guests receive high quality service; provide notes and insights if guests have special requests, assist team by clearing/cleaning/pre-setting tables for next party, ensure hospitable experience for all guests

  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies

  • Understand and assist with execution of responsible alcohol service

  • Follow, adhere, and practice the Safety and Sanitation standards set forth by the Food & Beverage Department including but not limited to:

  • Social distancing

  • Use of face mask/covering when in common areas, presence of guests, and where Social Distancing is not possible

  • Use of gloves when handling guest food or beverage

  • Cleaning and sanitizing high contact surfaces that are frequently used by guests and fellow employees

  • Frequent handwashing, regardless of use of gloves

  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisors and/or managers

Skills

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • 1-2 years' experience as a server in high volume environment

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Works well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow workers and supervisors

  • Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 20lbs

  • Ability to travel up and down stairs consistently during work shifts

  • Flexible schedule: ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required

  • Must be able to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures
