Centac/Turbo Air Service Engineer – Compression Systems
Where: Dallas, TX
Compensation & Incentive: $35.00–$50.00/hour (DOE), full-time hourly, plus a $3,000 Sign On Bonus!
Your Mission
Keep mission-critical compressed air assets running at peak performance. You will install, commission, troubleshoot, and service Ingersoll Rand centrifugal compressors—specifically Centac and Turbo Air models—along with the connected ecosystem of dryers and air system components.
Imagine This
You arrive at a plant where production depends on a Turbo Air unit. Alarms indicate discharge temperature deviations. You confirm conditions with precision measuring tools, trace wiring with the schematic, and identify a control input anomaly. After corrective action and a clean start-up, you complete a 47-point inspection, document findings, and brief the customer on preventative actions and relevant programs like Package CARE, Audits, and Leak Detection to protect uptime.
How You’ll Contribute
- Execute installations, start-ups, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on centrifugal compressors and complete compressed air systems.
- Use precision instruments for troubleshooting; reference operations and parts manuals to validate proper operation.
- Interpret complex wiring diagrams; research and resolve challenging technical issues.
- Complete accurate work orders, maintenance checklists, and daily time reporting.
- Coach customers on system improvements and Ingersoll Rand solutions (Package CARE, Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, Leak Detection).
- Perform preventative maintenance and 47-point inspections on compressors, refrigerated and desiccant dryers, and related components.
- Coordinate with the Service Coordinator and operations teams to source and stage parts and materials.
- Communicate procedures and policies to reach alignment with suppliers and external counterparts.
- Conduct basic vibration analysis and air quality troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of direct centrifugal compressor experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months; safe driving record (no DUI in last 5 years; no Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller violations/preventable collisions within the past 3 years).
- Ability to work in industrial/mechanical rooms with noise, extreme weather, tight/precarious spaces, and high voltage exposure per NFPA or equivalent standards.
- Physically capable: frequent hand/finger use, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving per safety policy limits.
Work Style
- Daily travel to customer sites; willing to work occasional overtime and occasional overnights.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; adept with mobile/handheld devices (smartphone, iPad) and networked tools.
- Excellent communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
