IMKO Workforce Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for a growing residential construction company to oversee custom homes, pole barns, post-frame buildings, and other construction projects throughout Central Missouri.
This is primarily an outside, field-based position involving regular interaction with customers, construction crews, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and company staff.
Construction knowledge and experience are important, but strong people and project-management skills are paramount. This person must be able to listen, communicate clearly, work through challenging situations, and maintain productive relationships while keeping projects moving toward completion.The ideal candidate understands that successful project management requires more than scheduling and construction knowledge. It also requires patience, organization, accountability, good judgment, and the ability to bring customers, crews, vendors, and staff together around a common goal.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate residential and specialty construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the construction process.
  • Visit job sites regularly to monitor progress and address concerns.
  • Communicate with crews, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and office staff.
  • Coordinate project schedules, labor, materials, deliveries, and changing priorities.
  • Provide customers with clear and professional project updates.
  • Work through delays, misunderstandings, workmanship concerns, and other challenging situations.
  • Identify potential problems early and help develop practical solutions.
  • Help ensure projects are completed according to plans, expectations, and company standards.
  • Maintain organized project notes, updates, decisions, and follow-up items.
  • Manage project changes and ensure they are communicated to everyone involved.
  • Support projects through completion and customer handoff.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous construction experience involving residential homes or similar building projects.
  • Project management, construction supervision, superintendent, or field-leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations and challenging situations professionally.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, crews, subcontractors, vendors, and office staff.
  • Working knowledge of construction plans, materials, schedules, and job-site processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly to project sites throughout Central Missouri.
Preferred Experience
  • Residential home-building experience.
  • Pole-barn, post-frame, barndominium, metal-building, or agricultural construction experience.
  • Experience communicating directly with homeowners.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, materials, and project schedules.
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, scopes of work, and change orders.
