Job description

Overview
Builders Chicago is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Construction Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. As a key driver of project success, you will oversee all phases of construction management and collaborate with diverse teams, working closely with general contractors to understand their project needs and deliver comprehensive solutions.
Responsibilities
  • A. Manage construction projects putting safety first.
  • B. Participate effectively and cooperatively in the "hand-off" of projects from Sales to Construction Project Manager
  • C. Oversee and direct projects from contract execution to completion.
  • D. Ability to read and understand complex contracts.
  • E. Create submittals to turn in to GC's after "hand-off."
  • F. Review each project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs .
  • G. Work with GC on change orders and change order and be able to work up pricing for said change orders.
  • H. Oversee and direct projects from contract execution to completion.
  • I. Ability to accurately purchase large jobs.
  • J. Coordinate with General Contractors and direct subcontractors.
  • K. Select proper tools, materials, and equipment.
  • L. Meet or exceed contractual conditions of performance.
  • M. Review work progress on a daily basis.
  • N. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • O. Participate in internal bid reviews, estimating, contract reviews, and the negotiation of contract terms.
  • P. Assist in obtaining requisite permits, licenses, waivers etc.
  • Q. Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • R. Must be self-motivated.
  • S. Ensure that quality constructions standards are used, and all policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • T. Maintaining stringent adherence to quality construction standards and enforcing company policies and procedures consistently across all projects.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Ability to pass criminal background checks, motor vehicle records checks, and drug testing.
  • Capability to meet the physical demands of the role, including occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects.
  • Effective project coordination skills with a focus on safety standards and quality assurance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
