Job Summary
Supplier to the aerospace, aviation and defense industry is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented 3 and 5-axis CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will setup and operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. You will assist with program modification as required, and based on experience, provide additional programming capacity when needed.

Your expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a small group of professionals producing aerospace components.


Duties

  • Program, set up and operate 3 and 5 Axis CNC machinery ensuring optimal performance and precision.
  • Program 5-Axis large mold and tooling components with Mastercam.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to accurately manufacture components within tight tolerances.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure machines are calibrated correctly for consistent output.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, and tooling safely.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Assist with other manufacturing processes when necessary, ensuring parts are correctly fitted and finished according to specifications.
  • Program CNC machines using Mastercam (Computer-Aided Manufacturing).


Requirements

  • Proven experience operating CNC machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of Mastercam CNC programming, including G-code editing and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and mechanical schematics.
  • Some experience with Mastercam programming is highly desirable.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
  • Knowledge of safety standards related to machining operations; ability to operate forklifts and support equipment safely is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a high-tech environment.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with CNC machine setup and operation (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Mastercam multi axis (required)
  • Organized and detail oriented (Required)
  • English (Required)
  • Driver's License. Able to reliably commute to 32934 (Required)
  • Be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time and be able to lift/push/pull 70+ pounds (Required)
  • Experience in aerospace, dealing with material lot/batch numbers (Preferred)


ITAR and Screening:

To be considered you must be able to pass drug screening and background check. To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
