Description

Join us on our Mission!

Our company philosophy is compassion first. While that might sound simple, it is in fact the basic principle that guides every decision we make, it is communicated to every employee we hire and it is demonstrated with every resident that we have been entrusted to care for.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a senior living community, you will play a vital role in providing care, support, and assistance to elderly residents. CNAs are responsible for ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of residents by assisting them with their daily activities and personal care needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care Assistance: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Provide assistance with mobility and transferring, including the use of mobility aids and lifting techniques as required.
  • Medication Support: Administer medications as per prescribed schedules and document accurately. Monitor residents' medication intake, report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals, and maintain medication records.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly measure and record residents' vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration rate. Report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
  • Emotional Support: Develop and maintain a positive and compassionate rapport with residents. Provide emotional support and companionship, actively engaging in conversation, listening attentively, and demonstrating empathy.
  • Daily Activities and Recreation: Plan and assist with recreational activities, exercise programs, and social events to promote residents' physical and mental well-being. Encourage participation and facilitate a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Safety and Comfort: Ensure the safety and comfort of residents by maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment. Assist in maintaining a high standard of hygiene and infection control practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of residents' care, observations, and any significant changes in their condition. Report concerns, incidents, and changes in residents' behavior or health to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the healthcare team, including nurses, doctors, therapists, and other staff members, to provide comprehensive care to residents. Communicate effectively and share pertinent information to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification.
  • Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid.
  • Knowledge of senior care practices, including proper body mechanics, infection control, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassion, empathy, and patience in dealing with elderly residents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
