Job description

Job Title: Clerk

Location: CMC Support

Department Name: Dietary-Management

Shift: Day

Pay Range: $16.19 - $18.17 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Clerk position is responsible for the processing of all diet orders, menus for the facility, and production tallies for the cooks. The Clerk assists on the patient tray line during meal service while holding additional cafeteria duties.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Preferred:

  • One year of food service experience and basic knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition preferred

Scheduling Requirements

  • Per Diem

Essential Functions:

  • Answers telephones, taking messages and relaying information as necessary
  • Assists patients and families with menu selections and offers menu substitutions as appropriate
  • Assists with patient tray line and delivers patient trays as per identification safety goals
  • Communicates with dietitian regarding patient food preferences and identifies patient high risk menus
  • Completes meal tally for each prepared meal and notifies cooks of special items to be prepared
  • Coordinate all aspects of menu preparation in accordance with patient meal schedule
  • Corrects modified menus in conjunction with physician diet order
  • Maintains adequate menu supply
  • Prepares production reports and generates to appropriate areas
  • Processes Cerner diet orders
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
