Job Summary:
We are looking to add a part-time Resident in Counseling to our growing team. This position is part-time, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on individual performance and organizational needs. Employees who transition to full-time status are eligible for medical and dental insurance benefits. This position provides face to face and/or telehealth counseling to individuals, groups, adults, adolescents, and/or families with a primary focus on ONE of the following areas:
-Children & Adolescents (ages 4-17)
-Couples and/or Families
-Trauma
-Christian Counseling
Residents must have a strong interest, passion and willingness to in the area of choice and will be provided with training to immediately begin expanding their skills in the specialty area.
Freedom Support clinicians are responsible for maintaining your caseload and completing all required documentation as governed by insurance and company policy.
This position is best suited for a counselor who is humble, mature, self-directed, organized, professional, friendly, practices self-care and empathetic to client needs. Flexible schedule & ability to set your own hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in face-to-face interactions as well as on social media.
  • Complete intake assessments which include documentation such as Mental Status Exams, Biopsychosocial, PHQ-9 or 2, GAD, CSSRS Risk Assessment, etc.
  • Maintain an average of 15 billable hours per week.
  • Ability to offer a minimum of 3 evening appointments each week
  • Effectively create and carry out treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
  • Communicate with referral sources as well as Primary Care Physicians after initial intake
  • Complete progress notes within 24 hours of time of service.
  • Complete timesheet daily reflecting the billable hours worked.
  • Maintain client's charts and keep complete and correct documentation.
  • Complete discharge summaries as required by insurance.
  • Develop rapport with clients in order to facilitate a healthy professional relationship.
  • Demonstrate growth in clinical competencies leading to independent licensure
  • Accurately track progress towards residency as required by the state.
  • Exercise sound clinical and professional judgment.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's Degree in Professional Counseling or related field from a CACREP Accredited Program (LPC, LPCC, CSW, LPA, LCSW, LMFT, etc.).
  • 3+ years of full-time work experience in a clinical setting and/or educational setting
  • 1+ year experience working with children/adolescents, couples & families, Christian counseling and/or trauma
  • Eligible for Residency in Virginia for LPC, LMFT, or LCSW licensure track
  • Knowledge and clinical experience with children, teens, and/or adults with mental health issues (trauma, anxiety, transitional issues, parenting, depression, and mood disorders etc.)
  • Knowledge, clinical experience, and willingness to work with people from diverse communities related to race/ethnicity, gender, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, low socioeconomic status, ability, etc.
  • Must have knowledge of current theoretical approaches to the delivery of counseling services.
  • Must have knowledge of strategies for examining, applying and evaluating cognitive/behavioral therapy concepts. Additional skills required include thorough knowledge of the clinical aspects of the mental health field.
  • This position is for Christiansburg office,with options for in-person, virtual only or a hybrid work schedule.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is $32 per billable hour. Payment is an hourly rate per billable hour. Clinical supervision provided towards licensure in Virginia.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
